Disney World
April 2016
We headed straight to Test Track when we got to Epcot, since the last time we visited it was closed for repairs. It reminded me of the Cars ride at Disney's California Adventure. It was also the flower festival while we were there. We ate at Coral Reef Restaurant which has a huge aquarium in it.
Magic Kingdom
We spent a lot of time at Magic Kingdom on this trip. Even on our last day we were able to spend some time in the park before heading to the airport.
We love the fireworks at Disney World. Magic Kingdom is our favorite, but Hollywood Studios had some good ones too this year.
Animal Kingdom
After a few photos at the big tree, we headed to the Kilimanjaro Safari where we saw giraffe, elephants, and many more African animals. We also saw some shows (Nemo and Lion King) and road the train over to Rafiki's Planet Watch.
I can't talk about Disney and not mention food. We were on the dining plan with 1 table service meal, 1 quick service meal, and 1 snack per person per day. Everywhere we ate was fantastic. We ate so much food, but still ended up with a ton of extra snacks because we weren't hungry very often outside our meals.
We met less characters this trip compared to 4 years ago, which meant we had more time for rides. A bunch of them were ones that my parents hadn't been on yet and a few were new to us and Holly's parents too. Only mom and I were brave enough to go on Tower of Terror.
The characters at Disney are awesome. Mickey actually was speaking this year. It was really neat to be able to interact with him.
Hollywood Studios
There was a bunch of Star Wars stuff at Hollywood Studios. I'll talk more about that below. We did a fast pass for the Buzz Lightyear ride which often has a wait time of over 1 hour. This was one of the group's favorite rides. We ended the day with Fantasmic and Fireworks.
Star Wars
Drew loved all of the Star Wars stuff at Hollywood Studios. I don't think it was all new, but I didn't remember very much of it from 4 years ago. We got to meet Kylo Ren and Chewbacca.
We were so lucky that both sets of our kid's grandparents could join us for this trip. These are memories that we will cherish forever. Drew was pretty much glued to Grandma Droessler the entire week.
The Kids
I'd like to say this was just Drew and Faith, but Disney brings out the kid in everyone (even Grandpa Droessler).
All-Star Music Resort
This was our first time staying at the All-Star Music Resort. I found it very similar to Pop Century. We ate twice at the cafeteria there and the food was good. The kids and grandpa Davis went swimming one night. The only downside was that our room was really far from the main building so we had a little extra walking at the beginning and ending of each day.
